FUTURE FOR RUSONA SCHOOL
Rusona School is a small community school in the remote village of Rusona, in western part of Uganda. Surrounded by lush matoke (green banana) plantations, the school serves 120 children, ages 3-10. Without any outside support, parents came together to give their children a chance at education. Using only natural materials they could find, mothers and fathers built a modest school with their own hands. While their dedication created a place of learning, the structure remains fragile and unsafe, leaving the children in need of a safer environment to learn and grow. Despite these challenges, the children arrive with joy and determination, ready to learn everyday. Their parents, though struggling with poverty, continue to sacrifice what little they have so their children can attend school. Today, we have the opportunity to make a difference and create a lasting change. With your support, Rusona School can be transformed into a safe, durable, and welcoming space where every child can learn without fear.
Your gift will provide:
Safe classrooms built with durable, lasting materials
Desks and benches so children no longer have to squeeze together
Hope and dignity for an entire community
