FUTURE FOR RUSONA SCHOOL
Rusona School is a small community school located in the remote village of Rusona, Kabarole District of western Uganda. Surrounded by lush matoke (green banana) plantations, the school serves 120 children, ages 3-10. With no outside support, local parents came together to give their children a chance at education. Using only natural materials they could gather, they built a modest school structure. While their dedication created a place of learning, the building itself remains fragile and unsafe, leaving the children in need of a safer environment where they can learn and grow. Despite these challenges, the children arrive with joy and determination, ready to learn everyday. Their parents, though struggling with deep poverty, sacrifice what little they have to make sure their children can attend school. WHEELS FOR EDUCATION AFRICA is a project dedicated to changing the current situation and creating a lasting impact. Our mission is to rebuild the school into a safe, durable and welcoming space where every child can thrive and learn without fear.
